The Will to Press...For the Future!

Sometimes, in my quest to become the Scribe I was born to be, I need to have a clear path to where I'm going...and at times, that's not clear. In those times of reform, I lean on certain affirmations that help me remove the junk in my thoughts and catapult me forward with a clear vision. Here are 30-Day Biblical Life Principles for Writers and Scribes...use them every day and remember to always Make Your Mark.

30-Day Biblical Life Principles for Writers and Scribes

By Eboney Lewis

  1. Ask the Lord to illuminate the areas in your life that are dark.

  2. Distractions only come to detour your focus, distort your vision, darken your direction, draw you away from destiny, and pervert the truth. What’s distracting you from allowing the fulfillment of your divine destiny from manifesting?

  3. Proverbs 13:15 says, “Good understanding gains favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard.” In other words, procrastination, which involves knowing what you need to do but failing to do it, can make your life difficult and cause your heart to become hardened.

  4. Your focus is directly linked to your purpose... do not allow your purpose to lose focus!

  5. You are “PURPOSE” on “PURPOSE”! You are God’s intent on the earth. You are God’s arrow in His quiver. You are the light at the end of the tunnel. God has already placed the infrastructure of His Kingdom inside of you…now LIVE ON PURPOSE!

  6. Everything you do should have God’s purpose attached to it. If what you are doing is devoid of His purpose, then you need to examine your motives quickly…and then repent.

  7. Your integrity and character are directly linked to your career in the Lord.

  8. If you allow obedience unto the Lord to be your portion, then expect “FAVOR” to follow you all the rest of your days.

  9. Demonic influences suppress, depress, compress, oppress, and possess. BE SET FREE FROM BONDAGE!

  10.  Demons and their influence fragment us; the Holy Spirit makes us whole.

  11.  Your process is directly linked to your assignment on the earth…get busy being great!

  12.  You will only go as far as your faith can carry you. Grow that mustard seed faith up!

  13.  The only way affirmations work is by absorbing the Word of God and having a transformed and renewed mind. That way, when you begin to speak over your life, when you decree and declare over your life, when you prophesy over your life, you believe it!

  14.  Be intentional in your relationship with the Lord. He's intentional with you.

  15.  If you have great passion inside you and something meaningful to do on earth, then you are a 'template'. The meaning of 'template' is something that is used as an example of how to do, make, or achieve something. You are a template of greatness… start being just that!

  16.  Jesus is the WORD that became flesh. We are words as well, that become what God sent us to do on earth. Isaiah 55:10-11

  17.  Truth will always trump facts. Allow wisdom to govern your faith.

  18.  The Kingdom of God grows daily on this earth, and as it grows, its citizens should grow as well.

  19.  Wisdom is Key; Prayer is Essential; Worship is Life…Become proficient in all three.

  20.  Let's stop 'striving' and start 'thriving'!

  21.  If it’s not stratospheric, then it won’t work. If your vision is minuscule, it means God is not part of it. God is too big for small dreams, visions, and aspirations. God needs His people to dream outlandishly and quite offensively. What He has placed inside of you all must be bigger than your person, to the point where God must do it, or it won’t be established.

  22.  If your relationship with the Lord is suffering, then all other relationships will also suffer as a result.

  23.  Do great work instead of no work.

  24.  Suffering is the vehicle that obedience uses to rule our hearts.

  25.  Circumstances are the outlet that gives you a reason to magnify God instead.

  26.  The parameters of God's security are wisdom and obedience. These will keep you secure in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  27.  Anything that is not born through prayer is counterfeit.

  28.  Press toward the mark instead of missing the mark.

  29.  Movement; Momentum; Acceleration; GO!!!!

  30.  You want a revival...it’s going to start with you first!

What You Do...Will Last!

As a Professional Writer/Scribe, I understand that what I do will last longer than my being on this planet. The need for one who writes will never diminish...NEVER! The professional writer makes sure the next generation knows what happened before them. It is not enough just to be called a writer, or an author for that matter, but to be able to express history in the sphere of influence, you are held accountable to, which is far greater than just "being called." When professional writers genuinely understand why they must write, writing becomes the propulsion for our posterity's continuation. Writing is that important for the future. It does not matter what level the professional writer is at or even what the professional writer is expounding on... what matters is that it is being done and will last.

When we trek back, even as far back as antiquity, there have always been documentation, ledgers, dossiers, transcripts, and different forms of written accounts, all for the purpose of being able to pull from archives. Human memory will fail, but a written account can continuously be tracked and used accordingly. I say these things to point out that our profession will not die out but rather grow exponentially. A professional writer will be called upon to take from memory, repetition, mastery, and experience to solidify it in forms that can be redistributed for generations to come, even if the one who captured it is no longer available. A written account of our times, events, struggles, triumphs, moments, achievements, even the times of strategic shifts, awakenings, detriment, upheaval, strife, destructions, and clarity...will be the marker of preservation. When history is accounted for, the generation on deck can have a schematic, not a blank canvas.

In retrospect, the professional writer's position and occupation have not changed but instead have grown and increased. Our job as preservers of the written document is exceedingly great, as it should be. We help preserve times and seasons for the generation that can continue in our stead. We will not write for status, fame, fortune, or a platform but to make sure what happened will not be forgotten but forever etched in history. ~Make Your Mark...Eboney

Knowledge And Wisdom Are Most Definitely Power!

There's an old saying, or better yet, an old adage that says, "Knowledge is power." That saying is truly an understatement. In my quest to become a steward of wealth, not just monetary wealth, I'm learning that without wisdom, one cannot obtain the greater portion of what is desired.

Let me start out by saying knowledge and wisdom go hand-in-hand. These two powers work in tandem with each other, so if knowledge is power, then wisdom is the principal thing. Let me put even more validity behind this newly crafted saying...

-Knowledge, meaning, per Webster's Dictionary, is information, understanding, or skill that one would get from experience or education. Google.com states that 'knowledge' means the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association.

-Wisdom, per Webster's Dictionary, is knowledge of what is proper or reasonable, and a good sense of judgment. It also explains that 'wisdom' means having the ability to discern inner qualities and relationships, insight, and a wise attitude, belief, or course of action.  Google.com states that 'wisdom' means the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise. It also noted that wisdom is the soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge, and good judgment.

The definitions and meanings of those two words prove to be self-evident in explaining why they work in tandem with each other. You cannot have one without the other. If you only possess the knowledge of a thing without wisdom, how would you know the application of what has been ascertained? Or, if you have acquired wisdom, what kind of education or familiarity of a thing do you have in the first place? Knowledge and wisdom need each other to work the power that is housed within them.

I want to convey and apply this understanding in my sphere of influence. I want to ensure this understanding is prosperous in all of my endeavors. I don't want to just say these understandings but fulfill them...daily. And I genuinely want the same for all my followers, as well as professional writers abroad. I want to ensure that I am releasing all the framework of success to you in this day and time. And to champion your right to be powerful in knowledge and wisdom as you embark on proving that you have what it takes to Make Your Mark in this world through your professional writing and scribing. ~Eboney

From Conception to Fruition...

If you don't see yourself as a winner, you will not win; it's as simple as that. I value my time, as should we all, and at the same time, can I truly see the vision realized that was seen years ago? I'm on the brink of tapping into this professional writing journey, and it's becoming increasingly "in plain eyesight" for me. Now, I don't want any of my readers to believe that I have it all together because I don't, but what I do have is confidence, tenacity, foundation, and expertise. I say all that just to say that if you see an opportunity, GO FOR IT! Do not sell yourself short; take the risk, put yourself out there, test the waters, and see what you're made of. And if you fail...that doesn't mean that you're a failure; that just means you know what NOT to do, and you move forward in your endeavors to see the conception of a thing come to fruition. You do not have to fail in your learning.

So, I have some pointers for all of the new "professional writers" looking at that enormous ocean of the world of professional writing. You may have heard some of these pointers before, but it's good to have some reiteration.

-Pointer #1: Don't try to reinvent the wheel. Listen really well; some rich intel exists in our sphere of influence. Look at what's working, do your research, look at the models that have gone before you, and put yourself in that creative space. Sometimes, we want to show that we can start something, and at the same time, we have forerunners who have tested all different scenarios and models. Let's look at who's doing it the best, check out who's making it happen, take inventory and stock, and run with it. If it's not broke...you know the rest.

-Pointer #2: Be your authentic self. Now, we won't reinvent the wheel, but we will not steal someone else's identity. The complexities and uniqueness about you will be what makes your writing a cut above the rest. What do you bring to the table? How may you interject with your skill and wisdom? How may your products and services match with what is needed? Does your input break the mold? Remember, don't sell yourself short...keyword, "YOURSELF."

-Pointer #3: Surround yourself with what you do. Never let anyone make fun of the fact that you love writing. If you are going to make professional writing a career or even a business, then protect your craft and those who do what you do. Make sure you never put down the rich stock you came into the world with. Keep something around you so that you will always be available to write, copy, transcribe, record, and dictate...never be caught off guard. Be ready to write at ALL TIMES! Remember, there is always something to write about that needs recording and preservation and something that needs to be captured to be remembered. Okay, I believe that's enough for now. And as always, remember to Make Your Mark. ~Eboney

Passion Versus Confidence

One of the first pearls of wisdom I understood was the difference between writing with passion and writing with confidence. There is a stark difference, so let me give these two words due justice. By way of Dictionary.com, passion means any powerful, compelling, or emotional feeling, a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything. Confidence, meaning, coming from Dictionary.com, means full trust, belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing. It also means belief in oneself and one's powers or abilities, self-reliance, and assurance.

Now, I know you are probably asking yourselves, "What is Eboney talking about?" When writing, your confidence is not in your passion but in your content, product, and ability to produce. Your confidence is in the results, your response, your solutions, and your work.

Think about it. A person can be passionate and never produce. Passion can fizzle out and die down. Passion does not complete. Passion cannot do what your confidence has been built to do. Passion does not equate to tenacity, which means persistence. Passion can only get you so far, whereas confidence can be stretched beyond its limit. When you're confident, you go further, you go the extra mile, you know what's ahead, and you go in prepared, stocked, and ready. Passion stirs you, but confidence will advance you.

I'll end on this, as you grow into a phenomenal professional with your writing, pull on what you know you can do. Pull on what you are rich in and what you are stocked with. I want to see your confident work that puts the shiny red bow on your passion to produce and preserve. Until next time, remember to Make Your Mark ~ Eboney

My 1st Post As A Freelance Writer

Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Eboney Lewis, and I'm a Professional Writer/Scribe. (Do I need to give some more information about myself?) Well, I can be an open book, but I'm not that interesting. I love writing, but most of all, I write because it's a necessary function for all mankind, and I truly believe that. Being a scribe is and will always be necessary for me. Now, I know that I’m fairly new to the freelance writing world, but I’m not new to writing in general. I wrote my 1st book in 2016, No Funeral Arrangements: Memoirs of a Prophet (I did just throw my book at you all, hey...the book is pretty good for my 1st one). I’ve been writing practically all of my life, so I know that I was born to write. I don’t want to write just for the heck of it or just to get money; this is one of the reasons me being alive in this day and time, and that is to scribe, document, dictate, record, preserve, and give a written account. I’m driven to write simply because it has to be done, and someone who loves writing has been charged to see to it being done. I’m one of those vessels. Count me in that number of those who passionately write and write passionately. So, as I go on this free-lancing journey of professional writing, I’m learning even as I write my very 1st blog. So, stay with me, freelancers...I’m so excited to see and post my journey with you all. Every nook and cranny, every twist and turn...I’m here for it all, and I’ll take you all with me. See you all soon. ~Eboney
